After Jack Beats did a remix for Major Lazer of ‘Jah No Partial’ leading up to Free The Universe, the two parties have brought together this brilliant collaborative remix of ‘KYD’. The result of these two teaming up is a genre bending remix that is definetley one with a big stompin’ drop but just becomes hard to classify. I think the name Summer Twerk Mix says it all, but in case you’re unaware of the side effects of music that fits this description, let me elaborate. Released last night from Zooly, I couldn’t contain the overwhelming need to just lose it to these infectious tunes in my room for a late night twerkfest. That’s right, I said it… twerkfest. Filled with tracks like “Bubble Butt,” from Major Lazer to Brillz’s remix of “Dirt Off Your Shoulder,” to even Baauer’s remix of “Attracting Flies,” it’s safe to say the booties were bouncing and the bass was bumping. I can guarantee you this mix will stay at the top of my playlist this summer and become a party play must to keep the energy high and the twerk alive. Here’s to the Summer of Twerk 2013.
DAMN! Well… color me impressed! If you haven’t heard, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike took a stab at remixing the huge hype up song from Major Lazer, Bumaye! After the first listen I was slightly let down, I just had my expectations set too high. But once I took a couple listens I quickly became obsessed! This song is too good and it’s not even a full release. Did you hear that second drop? Deadly. Picture this being dropped at a main stage…pure insanity! No word on a release date but you can be sure to hear it at Tomorrowland!

Just looking at the title of this track, you know it’s going to be mind blowing. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis changed the rap game this year keeping their debut album, ‘The Heist’, at the top of the charts and getting tons of radio time all without operating under a record label. Major Lazer changed the EDM game by continuing to be fucking awesome. Put these two duos together and you’ve got yourself a game changing track. Major Lazer takes the original energy of Can’t Hold Us and turns it up hard with their signature drum and synth patterns. This is the definition of “turnt up” so just download it, play it, piss off your neighbors with it.

Alright when this one popped up on my feed this morning I did a double take. Two of my favorite names right here. Dada Life hand over their set of rules to Major Lazer as they remix ‘Boing Clash Boom’ and flip it from a balls to the wall electro monster to an energetic, hyped trap remix. Knowing that I’ll be seeing both Major Lazer and Dada Life this summer within a week of each other has got me very, VERY excited to hear this remix. Look for it dropping soon on Dada’s label.

Needless to say this is HUGE collaboration. Major Lazer, Bro Safari and ETC!ETC! are three of the best Moombah producers out there right now and they all combined forces for a sick remix of Konshens Gal A Bubble. Despite its short length, this song packs a fiery Moombah, butt shaking, booty clapping punch that will get any dance floor grooving hard. Your typical Major Lazer sound with a whole lot of spark! Whether you agree with the career and style change from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion or not, we can all agree that his new album Reincarnated is damn impressive. If I could describe this entire album in two words it would be: Bob Marley. That’s exactly who Snoop reminds me of now. Personally, I love the new Snoop, I loved the old Snoop too but this album has a lot of good tracks and the messages behind the tracks are even better. Two of my favorite tracks are Ashtrays & Heartbreaks as well as No Guns Allowed. The messages behind both of those songs are so powerful and something we should all absorb it.
All of these songs were produced by Major Lazer and feature big time artists such as Drake, Miley Cyrus, Collie Buddz, Chris Brown, Akon and the list goes on and on. Truly a feel good album and well worth the purchase over on iTunes.
Also, a big congratulations to Snoop for being able to reinvent himself so well. He absolutely killed his sets at Ultra and he is even headlining Moonrise Festival in June. So sit back, relax, roll up and spark it.

Ricky Cervantes never fails to dissapoint with his spectacular, beautiful tracks and this climactic edit follows suit. Taking two very moving anthems and pairing them together, Ricky leaves you wanting just that little bit more, and although this mashup is announcing a ‘musical hiatus’, we hope that he comes back with a clear mind, and ready to bring us more masterpieces like this one.
