Some of my favorite producers in the game right now, Team Bayside High just dropped the first of their Festival Booster mixtapes for MTV Hive. In true Team Bayside High fashion, this mix is chocked full with straight 808 smashers. The mix contains a few tracks from popular dudes in the game right now (Hucci, heRobust, D!rty Aud!o, etc.) but also contains a ton of fresh tracks from lesser known producers. The mix also contains a gang of unreleased joints from the Team themselves including a dirty ass tune that samples Welcome To Jamrock by Damian Marley as well as a bunch of edits made exclusively for the mix. Shit, you can’t help but get crazy pumped listening to this mix, so go and grab is ASAP and bump it when you’re driving, partying, showering or whenever you’re tryna get turnt.

We recently caught up with young new upcoming trap Hayden, better known as heRobust to talk about himself and what we can expect from him soon. You can also find a new mash up from him below the interview that will have you dancing to as well!
1. Basic starter question, who is heRobust?
- I’m Hayden. I’m from Atlanta, GA and I make all kinds of music.
2. Where did the name come from?
- I get this question all the time. The truth is heRobust means nothing. I just wanted my name to be totally nonsensical so people couldn’t judge it. If your name is polarizing in any way, people may decide whether or not they like you before they even hear the music. With a name like heRobust there’s no connotation so people have to listen to the music to decide for themselves.
3. Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses, or 1 horse-sized duck?
- 100 duck sized horses. No question. Flying predators the size of a horse are not to be fucked with.
4. How would you describe your music to a middle-aged house wife who’s never heard electronic music?
- *hits play*
5. Where do you get your musical inspiration from?
- I gain most inspiration from other art forms. It’s not always music. It could be anything creative.
6. When did you realize that you could turn music into a career?
- When other artists that I really looked up to started showing appreciation for my work.
7. What other producer would you love to tour with, if you had to pick one?
- Diplo. Whether it’s music or the industry that surrounds it, I could learn so much just being around him. I hope to be involved in many different aspects of music someday and he’s probably the best example of that. Also, seeing beautiful women #exressthemselves every night wouldn’t be too bad either.
8. What is your favorite song of all time?
- I never have a favorite of anything. To me it’s all time based. I love songs right now that I’ve hated before and I hate songs now that I’ve loved before. Right now I really enjoy everything Cashmere Cat is putting out though.
9. What’s going to be the next big electronic genre?
- I think drum n bass is coming back in a big way.
10. What’s next for heRobust?
- Just gonna keep experimenting with new genres and expanding as a dj. I’m having a great time out here. I have a lot of festivals lined up for the summer and a bunch of collaborations in the works. Some of the artists I’ll be working with include gLAdiator (again) and Two Fresh.

Damn heRobust has been on his grind lately. Not long after the release of his Busted EP, the Georgia man comes in hard with this hour long mix. To kick off this week’s Saturday morning Trap, we’ve got a new single from the man who brought us what is indisputably the best Knife Party remix released to date. It’s called ‘OG Status’ and it has his usual style, a dirty trap feel with a mutilated bassline that manages to be both grimy and polished at the same time. It’s just as awesome as everything else heRobust has released, and I highly recommend that you download it, as well as the rest of his backlog if you haven’t already (especially his Lil Wayne and Knife Party remixes).
