You may have heard of David Heartbreak before, producing big time tracks such as “Acid Youths” or “Boogie Monster”. Being described as “innovative” by Skrillex and an “originator” by Diplo, OWSLA newcomer David Heartbreak is tearing up the EDM scene. Brooklyn-born, David Heartbreak started off his music career in hip hop. Following his love for electronic music, Heartbreak started producing original tracks. Some of his direct influences include producers such as Timbaland, Afrojack, Skrillex, Dada Life, Diplo, and Brodinski. His love of travelling and interest in other cultures have been huge influences in his music. In a recent interview with Moombrotron, David comments on his own sound. “I think if you listen to a lot of different genres, you eventually want to create different genres. I love music as a whole; EDM, reggae and hip hop, so it makes sense to me to fuse the genres.” The Foundation EP blends together reggae, hip-hop, and moombahton undertones to create a beautiful melody of sounds. The introduction encompasses you in soothing reggae beats, with a tribute to moombahton roots. However the next track, “Yardcore Pressure”, is a real trap banger! Keeping his reggae undertones prevalent, Heartbreak hit’s the bass heavy with this one and creates an original sound sure to keep listener’s captivated. Dave Nada, American DJ and creator of Moombahton, has nothing but great things to say about David. “Heartbreak does just that: breaks hearts with his soulful records, and breaks chests with his hardcore jams. David is an all-time all- star producer and DJ. Full support.” Just released Tuesday, here is David Heartbreak’s debut EP from OWSLA record’s, The Foundation. Listen here and if you want to support him, buy the EP on Beatport!
There’s really not much that I can say about this EP because the music speaks entirely for itself. Singularity is an amazing producer and this EP just solidifies that fact. The remixes by TheFatRat and DCarls are also absolutely amazing. The EP is available on Beatport right now and is definitely well worth the price. BUY IT! LISTEN TO IT! GO!

Foxsky just released a preview of his upcoming EP “The Whip” thats due out May 16th. This EP includes insane remixes by ETC!ETC!, Udachi, VASS, and The Reef! The remixes incorporate grimey breakdowns with uplifting undertones, adding essential elements to the original track. The Reef’s remix of “The Whip” sounds almost tribal-esque. As always we can count on ETC!ETC! to run the trap! This EP is definitely something you dont want to miss out on. Watch out for the full EP release next week.

If you were at Prime on Cinco De Mayo in Boston, you got to witness one of the most energetic and crazy shows to ever hit the city. Carnage and Borgore took the stage with separate sets on Sunday night but for 3 straight hours KILLED it. Not a moment went by where people weren’t freaking out over the song selection. The two buds brought an unprecedented amount of energy in to what is a relatively small venue. But I digress.
One of my favorite songs dropped was the one you can hear below. Sonata In F Major has that signature Borgore sound with an extremely LOUD drop! It can only be described best by Borgore himself as “Fuking Classical music bra.” With his new EP dropping very soon and featuring songs like this and That Lean on it, it’s going to be insane.
Make sure you check out the tour dates for Borgore and DO NOT miss a show if it’s coming near you!

Cole told us all yesterday that it was coming and it’s finally here. J. Cole releases the 2nd installment to his Truly Yours EP series in preparation for his Born Sinner album, his sophomore effort releasing on June 25th. This sh*t RIDES to say the least. Expect features from 2 Chainz and Young Jeezy over production from the likes of Canei Finch, Jake One and of course J. Cole himself. Stream and download the entire EP below! J.Cole is a beast.

The homie Mac Miller is becoming a regular on ThisSongSlaps and we have another project from him. Acting as his producing alter-ego, Larry Fisherman, the Showtime EP: Super High Off Wax Time isn’t much of a Mac Miller project as it is just a few tracks produced by Mac Miller with his rapper friends rhyming over them. Expect features from the likes of Ab-Soul, Smoke DZA, Domo Genesis, Freddie Gibbs and more! All 4 of these tracks are FUEGO and they definitely showcase Mac Miller’s, I mean, Larry Fisherman’s production skills. Check these out you will definitely not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Crywolf himself posted this one last night on his social media links and I immediately jumped at it. Crywolf’s new EP, Ghosts, has been turning heads like crazy ever since it was released. One of the biggest songs off the EP, and my personal favorite, was The Home We Made Pt. II. The original evoked so much emotion and was so powerful, but this remix just makes it more of a Dubstep head banger while also keep the original’s beauty. I had never heard of Doppelganger until hearing this remix, but he impressed me enough to take a deeper look into his Soundcloud and this kid has talent. Grab the free download below and go browse the Soundcloud link when you get the chance. You just might find some hidden gems in there.

Good God yes Moombah Monday’s are my favorite! Recently, I asked our Twitter followers what they would like to see more of. Well, the answer was Moombahton and it looks like the EDM Gods have answered our prayers. I was browsing my Soundcloud the other day and came across a full EP titled Good Times from SAV & Happy Colors filled with fiery, booty shaking Moombah. It’s hard to find good, quality Moombah these days but this is some of the best I’ve heard recently so I had to share it. My personal favorite is Drink Erthang but all three songs are good. Now for those of you who don’t know the artists (which to be honest they are new to me too) here is a little introduction. SAV is based out of NYC and is 1/2 of Sazon Booya (who you all should know) while Happy Colors is and up and coming from Miami but has produced a good amount of tunes via his Soundcloud. The two teamed up to make this 3 Song EP and best part is they gave it away for free. Go grab your copy down below and start your week off right! Enjoy!
