Anyone that wasn’t at EDC on Saturday night was probably doing the same thing as me and watching as Deadmau5 and Kill The Noise live streamed themselves in the studio working on a new track.
a collab between myself and killthenoise… i’ve bastardized it a bit. but ill pass it back to jake and see whats up.
While it’s clearly still a work in progress, you can hear the beginnings of a very cool track and I really look forward to hear the track grow, as Jake and the Mau5 aren’t two you’d typically expect to work on a track together since their styles are so different. Let us know what you think!

CHange’s production value is incredibly admirable considering he works (most of the time) without any remix stems. Now Ellie’s ‘Lights’ has been very, very over remixed and mashed, but Change restores my faith in producers with this fresh, funky bootleg of the original.
I know what you’re thinking, “Oh another remix of Lights, just what i wanted to hear.” Well set that sarcasm aside for this, because I think I ended up with something special here. Mixing the elements of Ellie’s beautiful vocals with a hint of Funk, & a bit of everything else – there’s something that’s here for everyone. Thanks for listening!

We’ve been meaning to get this amazing 4-track EP up since its release date last week, but since then Coyote Kisses Thundercolor EP has been topping the BeatPort Top 100 Releases, just overtaking Eric Prydz’ for the #5 spot. Electronic duo, Coyote Kisses, have been mesmerizing listeners worldwide with their explosive sound and prolific compositional techniques. In a dance music scene where so many producers opt for derivative and formulaic styles, Coyote Kisses are more than just refreshing, they are an inspiration. This 4-track EP showcases their inspirational genre-defying production style all the way through with their smooth-flowing electronic production. They’re hoping to jump to the #4 spot by the time they wake up in the morning, so if you’re digging this EP, be sure to head over to BeatPort and grab the full release below.

Alright so these remixes have been hinted at over the past month or so, and now we finally have a release date in sight. Next Monday these killer remixes will drop but for now we can enjoy the remixes on SoundCloud. First remix on deck is Fred V & Grafix teaming up with Sub Focus himself to create an uplifting drum n bass remix. Second is a remix from Dismantle, now while I know not all of you will like it just give it a listen. I’m not a fan of deep house by any means, but when I am Dismantle is the artist I go straight to. Finally, Tommy Trash makes his second appearance of the day on his remix where the vocals soar over top of a stadium filling, electro drop. Make sure to check out the music video as well and stay tuned for the full release next Monday!

This EP is one I’ve been looking forward to since I heard it weeks back. The title track ‘Kraken’ opens up with big, menacing, heavy electro, worthy of even Feed Me himself. The track quickly sets the mood and pace for the rest of the EP. The second track ‘Vektor’ ups the tempo and intensity, bringing out some more breaks and warps in the piece. We then move into three killer remixes from The Chaotic Good, a trapped out remix from Zebo, and finally a prefect deep, techy disco remix from Wes Monroe to close out the EP. Big ups to Kodiak Collective for bringing this one to the table, the EP is out on Beatport now!

We have substantial reason to believe that the below track is in fact an early version of the closing tune off Daft Punk’s forthcoming album, Random Access Memories. Almost entirely confirmed by both BeatPort & FactMag, “Contact” features France’s own DJ Falcon and was captured on a 2002 DJ set recording of Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, Cassius and Falcon at Amsterdam’s Paradiso, which you can check out at 2 hour and 21-minute mark here. What do you think? Is this real or fake?

So CHANGE is really starting to separate himself from the crowd with his new originals. He’s really starting to take a path down the road of disco and funk, and he’s miles ahead of the game. As we’ve seen with ‘Get Lucky’, disco is back. Once Daft Punk’s album drops all the producers are gonna be scrambling to hop on the band wagon, and I can almost guarantee that CHANGE will be sitting back laughing at them all. Check out the track and download it, and also remember that CHANGE will be playing for our online Mixify festival on May 29th and 30th!

Our friend Minnesota teams up with fellow Santa Cruz native G Jones to drop a mind-blowing 3-track project entitled Mile High Club EP, available for free download. The first two tracks titled “Be Alright” & “Hit The Club” feature thunderous 808 bass complimented by some menacing hip hop lyrics and samples from Slim Thug’s “Three Kings” featuring TIP & Bun B, followed by a melodic bass tune titled “Blast Off,” closing out the EP nicely.

It’s always entertaining to see the sounds Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 is experimenting with on his Soundcloud and over the past 24 hours, the mau5 himself released two new sounds titled “Moog Bass + Modular” & “Assume Control.” He released this message with the first:
there i fixed it.
And this one with the later:
sorry for the ‘jacked afro’ crap at the end there… was testing a module out, wanted to see if i could get a saw to resync on note retrigger / rise n fall of pitch stuff. for science.

Nero’s Into the Past is simply beautiful. This new production is going to be featured on The Gatsby soundtrack and has an eerie dark feel with some beautifully placed lyrical work. I’ve always been a fan of the amount of production that goes into Nero’s songs and this one is no different giving me instant goosebumps! Do yourself a favor and indulge in this adventure courteous of Nero.
