I know it’s Turnup Tuesday, but I couldn’t pass up this incredible Moombahcore remix. You haven’t gone this hard on a Tuesday since…Ever, thanks to the Pegboard Nerds. The original track by J. Viewz is an unbeat indie pop song and you would never believe that it could get successfully remixed into a electronic smash like this, but Pegboard Nerds are all about saying “fuck you” to your expectations! This is some seriously bouncy Full Mast Music. Honestly just try to not get musically aroused by this track, because I promise it’s impossible. Listen to the track and support the artist by snagging it off Beatport below!
The other Friday I had the opportunity to cover a Flux Pavilion show at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. Im going to say it right from the beginning, there is nothing worse than horrible opening acts that fail to ignite the spark and get the energy pumping. Friday there were to be two opening acts, as soon as I stepped in I was skeptical of what I was about to hear. To my pleasant surprise, I was blown away by the performance of DJ Wubson. A Worcester local, DJ Wubson is one of New England’s most creative and promising up and coming DJ’s. Wubson has had the honor of playing with some of the biggest names in EDM including Flux Pavilion, Zed’s Dead, Dada Life, Doctor P, Rusko, Figure, and more. He has completed a regional tour with Sazon Booya and Lazerdisk Party Sex in late December 2012. For those of you who are familiar with Burning Man, DJ Wubson has even scored playing on multiple stages during Burning Man 2011 and 2012. His eccentric, playful sound is full of wild energy that can be seen in each and every act he performs. I caught up with DJ Wubson after the show to tell him how much I enjoyed his set and he was awesome enough to give me two unreleased original’s he dropped in his set last! I am dropping these tracks as a split EP with BLK.MRTK.BTZ. exclusively for all of our awesome readers! They include “Cheesy” a heavy electro-house banger and “Reckoning Song”, a kind of tear-jerker that leads into a huge drop written by Wubsy’s boy BLK.MRKT.BTZ. Another exclusive sent to me, “Express Your Tipsy”, is a recent mashup that the two artists collaborated on. Check out all three below, and make sure to show them some love by liking them on facebook!

Aww yiss, new ETC!ETC! As the title states, the King is back, and he brought some amazing Moombahton with him. I had been praying for something to get released today, and the Soundcloud gods did not disappoint with this one. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing ETC!ETC! live a few times and let me tell you, there is as much energy in his performance as there is in his music, and ‘King’ has just as much (if not more) energy as usual. Apparently he’s been sitting on this track for a while, and for that I ought to deliver a cold and well-deserved slap to his face, because I don’t know how my iPod has survived without this song for so long. Grab the download and listen, twerk, swerve, yolo, or whatever, as long as THIS SONG is what you’re listening to. Because it SLAPS! (See what I did there? With the capitol letters?)
This track is like the mythical unicorn of Moombahton. Gent & Jawns played it in every single set i’ve heard them play, but it was nowhere to be found on the world wide interwebs. But by the grace of the bass gods, Gent & Jawns released it in all its glory. If you don’t know the original song, ‘Epic’ by Sandro Silva and Quintino, then just stop. And if you don’t know who Gent & Jawns are then PLEASE stop. Thankfully everyone knows both of these EDM superstars, so you can expect that when you combine them both into one track that it’s going to be the shit. Do your friends a favor and play this track as loud as humanly possible, because it might very well change their lives.

I’VE been a fan of Kavinsky since his first EP OutRun and am even more excited for the Odd Look EP to drop. A-Trak furthered my excitement when he dropped this Moombahton remix to Odd Look and after the first listen if became an instant favorite. A-Trak nails the beat in this one and includes some immaculate vocal splicing that just showcase the skills he has, turn this one up and get the repeat button ready!
Ok ok ok, giveaway aside, let’s talk music first. I dig this. I dig it a lot. It combines two of my favorite genres. Booty shaking Moombah and hard hitting Dubstep! What more could you possibly ask for? Oh some sexy vocals? Got that. A legendary remix? Check! Yup its all there, stamp this one as certified banger! Oh and did we mention it’s a free download too? Get it!

Honestly, if a track’s title has the word ‘Twerk’ in it then i’m 100x more likely to love it. So as you can imagine I downloaded this song before I even listened to it because A. Twerk, and B. I have an EDM crush on 2Deep and Corrupted Data. Both of them are absolute bass superstars and it has once again been proven with their latest collaboration track called ‘Twerk It Out’. It’s a moombahton smash that will make you want to, you guessed it, twerk your ass off. I love moombahton because it’s impossible to listen to it without wanting to book a flight to the Caribbean and twerk till you pass out, and this track is no exception. Grab the free download below and be sure to check out the rest of Muevelo Volume 2 on the Mad Decent website HERE.

Alright it’s official, I’m in love with Tim Gunter. You probably remember him from his Nu Disco track, ‘Talkin’ To You’ that I posted the other week. Well he’s back and he brought his amazing friend DJ A-Minor with him, and together they absolutely murder an original track that takes influence from Trap, Moombahton, Bounce, and Carribean music. It doesn’t have a set genre or sound and I LOVE that. The scratches by A-Minor at around 2:40 are absolutely incredible, especially since he did them LIVE during the recording of this track. ‘Like’ Tim Gunter and A-Minor on Facebook to grab this free download below!

London duo Bare Noize just gave posted this one on their soundcloud, and I am certainly down to bump this one for a while. Departing from their usual dubstep style as they did with their past super chilled out original, Bare Noize decided to go moombah on this remix, and it certainly works well. The song features the original vocals which give it an aggressive feel, and when combined with the synth slides and bounciness that the moombah genre brings, this is just one of those songs that you know is going to make everyone dance. Expect to hear this one rinsed by moombah dudes such as Dillon Francis and Dave Nada all summer long. Track will be coming out on Red Bull Records soon!

So you’ve definitely had the chance to hear these guys on the site before as they have been having a monstrous year and we had chance to catch up with Culture Code for a quick interview this past weekend.
Who is Culture Code and where are you from?
Hey! We are Chris & Dylan, better known as Culture Code. We are two 20 year old EDM producers from Birmingham, UK. We met at the age of about 14-15 in school, we became really close friends and a couple years back decided to persue producing electronic music. We were both huge fans of EDM music back then, a friend of ours used to make music at his place and introduced us to the production side of it. This took our interest quite quickly. After a few years just messing around with production, we decided that we wanted to go at this as a career, which is where Culture Code began.
How did you get into the EDM scene and where do you draw your inspiration from?
We have always been into electronic music, from back in high school. At that time the genre we and everyone else around loved is possibly quite a very unheard of genre over in the states and in most countries. The genre was called Bassline. A couple years later dubstep came around. At this time it was so new and exciting, there was only a few producers making it. A few names that were about at the time, which whom inspired us to start making it ourselves were Nero, Chase & Status, Skream etc… The first dubstep track we ever heard, whilst at a friends house, was The Streets – Blinded By The Lights (Nero Remix) which to this day is still a banger!
Have you always been into this genre of music?
As we said previously, not always, but since it came about then yes. We have had phases where a different genre would take our eye for a while, but have always came back to Dubstep. There is just something about the genre that is so appealing, I think its the fact that you can pretty much take it in any direction, from melodic to straight up filth. You even have chillout Dubstep!
What can we expect from Culture Code in the future?
Plenty more tracks for one! We are hoping to broaden our productions skills and styles over the following year. We hope to be playing some killer shows too, especially in the States, the scene over there looks amazing right now with the festivals etc! Lastly, hoping to get a good few collaborations on the go with talented artists across the scenes.
If you could choose one person to tour with who would it be?
There are loads of people we would love to tour with. To name a couple… Krewella & Adventure Club. Their shows are full of love for the music as well as energetic and crazy as hell!
To finish up things I have one more question that we always ask here at TSS. Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?
That’s easy… A horse sized duck. There are 2 of us meaning the duck is outnumbered ha!Thanks so much TSS, was a pleasure to have an interview with you guys! Also a huge thanks to our fans who have supported us all the way <3
