After hitting us with his mind-blowing 7-track Black Magic EP back on November 6th of last year, the New York native & current Los Angeles resident Jake Stanczak has returned with a visual aid for his opening tune, “Black Magic (Kill the Noise Pt. 2).” If you rewind time back to last year, Kill The Noise’s video for “Kill The Noise (Part 1)” off his Kill Kill Kill EP was voted MTV Clubland’s Video Pick of the Year. Needless to say this video has some high expectations, and in my opinion, it does not fail to exceed these expectations whatsoever.

Remember that mind-blowing remix of Zedd’s “Clarity” featuring Foxes from the fresh Missouri-based trio Over Night Legendz that we showcased a few weeks ago? Remember our mixtape series “ThisMixSlaps” presented by our former San Diego-based resident DJs, Back From The Future? I was browsing through our inbox of songs from our submissions page earlier this afternoon and came across this mind-blowing dubstep remix of J-Trick & Reece Low’s ‘Higher Ground’ featuring Blissando, coming from an up-and-coming Sydney-based production duo, Kyro & Bomber. J-Trick & Reece Low are two of the countries most talented up-and-coming acts, and Kyro & Bomber managed to morph their recent electro house anthem into a dubstep masterpiece full of Blissando’s spine-chilling vocals combined with plenty of melodic, yet grinding bass. Los Angeles’ dubstep mastermind Flinch, who brought us his absolutely stunning remix of Ellie Goulding’s mind-blowing single ‘Anything Could Happen’ last month, has returned with an hour long Daily Dose Mix for BBC 1Xtra. Flinch manages to stuff 25 tracks from some of the top acts in the dubstep/trap world right now such as Skrillex, 12th Planet, BARE, UZ, Luminox, & MANY MORE. Needless to say, Flinch bring the bass on this amazing mix, leading off with his beautiful Ellie Goulding remix. We recently had the chance to host Flinch, Harvard Bass, & AC Slater here in San Diego at FLUXX Nightclub back in December, and Flinch completely destroyed his set. I 100% recommend seeing him live if you ever have the chance.

Before there was realistic talk of these types of collabs, in early 2012 the Certified team was already on a mission to bridge the gap between the two genres, linking Flosstradamus and Trap-A-Holics for the first time, and playing Trapstyle to Waka Flacka and Bricksquad’s 808 Mafia production team (http://bit.ly/PJY5Yd). Episode 2 chronicles the events which have transpired since and features commentary and interviews with Trapstyle’s budding superstars including Luminox, Willy Joy, and The Interns as well as Hip Hop’s Trinidad James, Casey Veggies, Problem, League of Starz, and more. Having deep roots in the Trap music scene, ‘Certified’ seeks to support the innovation and progress of the genre and artists driving it.
