As festival season winds down, the weather cools off and show season approaches. Before the warm weather completely fades, we still have those beloved end of summer finales to look forward to. To be fair; festivals never really stop happening but the good ones become scarce. The city that never sleeps plays host to a few handfuls of spectacular things and The Meadows NYC just happens to be one of them. The three day multi-genre festival returns to Citi Field for year two after a strong debut in 2016. Last year featured Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Kygo and The Weeknd as headliners. This years billing boasts an equally talented group of huge acts.

The Meadows is building a name for itself around its genre bending, stacked lineups. The top of this one looks a little bit different than last year. You still get the same star power but as opposed to recent chart toppers, these headliners have a more nostalgic/throwback feel. Jay-Z has been doing it since way back, Red Hot Chili Peppers are wrapping up a reunion tour and Gorillaz just recently broke their silence. Not to mention, names like Erykah Badu, LL Cool J and Nas turn this into a trip down memory lane! The new school presence is also felt; with rappers like Migos or 21 Savage, electronic acts such as Lido and Marian Hill or even the German folk group, Milky Chance.

Don’t forget to check out all of the awesome local food vendors either! The good people who put this together put lots of work into the music but that doesn’t mean they slacked in the food department. And lets just be honest New York is equally as popular for its food scene as it is for its music.

Jay-Z was right, “after the show it’s the after party” and thank god The Meadows hooked us up with dope ones. The fest is scheduled to end around 10 every night but who comes to NYC for the weekend and ends their night that early? Different moves, different vibes; you take your pick! Ghostface Killah at The Brooklyn Bowl and GTA at Schimanski are our personal favorites; see you there?

Tickets are still available on their site but are selling fast, grab yours now! If you’ve already gotten yours but haven’t downloaded their mobile app, we highly recommend checking that out. The app will keep you up to date with any changes and allow you to create your very own schedule. See you guys this weekend!
