[TSS Event Review] Give Trance A Chance: Dreamstate Presents Paul Van Dyk Tour Is Where You Need To Go

If you are thinking about attending Insomniac’s Dreamstate event in San Francisco, I highly suggest it. They bring out the best uplifting and psytrance artists on the planet. With the amount of DJs they bring you will find someone playing a badass set. To get us prepared for the San Fran event, Insomniac has started a Dreamstate tour! This tour will finish at the San Fran festival and will be all around North America. The headliner is the legendary Paul van Dyk. He is getting tagged along with Simon Patterson, Vini Vici, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Solarstone and Heatbeat. I got to go to the second show of the tour which was in Dallas. Heatbeat started the night and did not disappoint with his blend of tech, uplifting and psy trance sounds. He even played their signature Heatbeat mashup Not Giving Up On 3rd Earth. Alex M.O.R.P.H. was the second man on the decks and he provided another great show. One track I remember is a psy bootleg of Dash Berlin’s Man On The Run by Ranji. The 3rd act is rising stars Vini Vici who played an epic psytrance set. Then it was time for the main act Paul van Dyk. I can say with confidence that was the best set I heard from him. He just seemed to know what songs to play. The one moment I’ll remember is seeing that it was time for the event to end and it seemed like it was going to but Paul dragged the sound out and was still on stage. That’s when he played one of my favorite tune of his but remixed: Nothing But You (Super 8 & Tab Remix). If you’re even the least bit curious I highly suggest going to a stop near you, you won’t regret it!
