Notaker Releases Ethereal New Original “Shimmer”
Brian Poles

Notaker is a man who lets quality speak over quantity. With just a handful of releases over the past year he has methodically crafted gems for his listeners through those few releases. With a style of progressive house that I would describe as somewhere between Porter Robinson and Eric Prydz, his music transcends the general electronic music sound that many are accustomed to and his latest original “Shimmer” is no different.

“Shimmer” brings you on a journey of soft piano chords, glitches, and upbeat synths. The pianos in the song are what really drives it and takes you along through the song. When the drop comes, exuberance fills your body and you feel free. The cover art for the song depicts a lone sailboat out at sea with the sunset as the backdrop and the song places you in that setting. You gain a feeling of understanding for what the song is trying to convey, as Notaker does in all of his songs. For him it is about the journey and not the destination and this song brings you along with him on a musical adventure.

“Shimmer” is out now via Monstercat and is available to download on all major platforms as well as for streaming. You can check it out down below, but before you press play, be ready to go on a quick trip with our man Notaker.
