Ember Island Releases Elegant, Heartfelt Original “Need You”

Ember Island Releases Elegant, Heartfelt Original “Need You”
Toby Reaper

Coming off of a number of highly successful covers including “Where Are Ü Now”, “Can’t Feel My Face”, and “Sad Machine”, the indie electronic trio Ember Island shows that they can bring that same quality, creativity, and elegance to original tracks as well.

Their second original “Need You”, has stunningly clean and emotional vocals that gives Ellie Goulding a run for her money. Subtle drums in the background let the vocals shine through, which sit wistfully atop piano chords and other subtle melodic features that set the underlying ambiance. Ember Island’s sound is a fresh breath of pure emotion among the multitudes of electronic artists that are too focused on fat basses and driving synths to truly express themselves. As more people hear and relate to this, I can see Ember Island getting big very quickly. They are definitely a band to watch in the coming years.
